CAIRO – 26 October 2024: The first edition of the Arab Youth Media Creativity Summit, organized by the Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport (AASTMT), will kick off in Cairo, Egypt, on Sunday.
The event is held under the auspices of the League of Arab States and the Egyptian Cabinet. Themed: “media inspires … young people create,” the summit serves as a platform to enhance innovation and collaboration among media institutions and their impact across various sectors.
Spanning two days, the summit will see the participation of several ministers and politicians, along with a large number of public figures and prominent Arab and Egyptian media personalities.
The event will host diverse panel discussions on key media topics in the Arab world, as well as of workshops and training sessions presented by top media professionals and trainers, aimed at developing the skills of young media professionals and refining their experiences.
Discussions will revolve around artificial intelligence and its challenges in the media field, the impact of modern technology on journalistic content creation, as well as the challenges of media coverage in Arab countries, in addition to digital security for media and journalistic institutions and the mental health of journalists.
The summit will also feature a competition for Arab youth, including filmmakers, designers, programmers, and media college students from Arab universities, covering various media-related topics.
This edition has been dedicated to the Palestinian cause, along with the allocation of an award for creative work in the support of Palestine category within the competition.
Bringing together a select group of public figures and media professionals to discuss important issues in the field of media, the summit reflects the Arab media community's confidence in Egypt as one of the pillars of media and among the oldest in the Arab world.
Additionally, the summit aims to enhance the skills and develop the professional capabilities of participating young media professionals.
