CAIRO - 26 October 2024: Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly headed to Suez city Saturday, where he paid inspection visit to a number of major projects and inaugurated others. 

 

Darah Provincial Capitals Development Project

Madbouly began his tour by visiting a number of industrial and service projects in Suez Governorate, starting with an inspection visit to the presidential initiative project to develop governorate capitals and major cities "Darah" in Ataka district. 

He followed up on the current implementation status of the project, and hand over contracts for a number of housing units to beneficiaries.

Engineer Khaled Seddik, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Urban Development Fund, said that the "Darah" initiative is part of the presidential initiative to develop provincial capitals and major cities.

Seddik added that Darah housing project targets 500K housing units, the first phase of which includes 100K alone.

He further highlighted the three sites of the project, explaining that the first site of the "Darah" project includes a number of services, including: a mosque that can accommodate 500 worshipers, a bakery, a nursery, and a commercial market consisting of 16 shops.

Regarding the second site, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Urban Development Fund pointed out that its area reaches 60 acres, and includes 162 buildings with 3,796 housing units, on an area of ​​90 meters per unit, and that site includes 138 commercial units, and 92 administrative units.

The second site also includes a number of services, including a mosque that can accommodate 500 worshipers, a primary school with 42 classrooms, a commercial market consisting of 16 shops, and a bakery.

While for the third site of the project, Engineer Khaled Siddiq indicated that its area is 81 acres, and includes 243 buildings with 5,744 residential units, 132 commercial units, and 88 administrative units. The services included in the site have: a mosque, a church, a bakery, a nursery, a health unit, a commercial market consisting of 16 shops, and playgrounds.

During the tour at “Darah”, Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli handed over the title deeds of the residential units of a presidential initiative on developing the capitals of the governorates and major cities in Suez governorate.

The prime minister said that 13,000 residential units are being constructed as part of the “Darah” initiative.

 

Knauf factory for Plaster rods

As part of his visit to Suez, Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli inspected the factory of the German company of Knauf for plaster rods and products.

Director of Knauf Egypt factory Mohamed Shabrawy posted the premier on the factory and its activities, adding that “Knauf Egypt is committed to presenting high-quality products depending on local expertise via manufacturing a different group of plaster rods and metal pieces that meet the demands of the Egyptian and international markets.”

Knauf Egypt presents various group of designs of drop ceiling, saying that its investments reached 80 million euros as direct investments. 

Shabrawy also pointed out that Knauf renews its confidence in the Egyptian economy by establishing its third factory with direct investments estimated at about 80 million euros, using the latest technology in the world. 

 

Egyptian-Japanese School in Suez

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli also visited the Egyptian Japanese School - Salam 2 in Ataqa, Suez, where he was greeted by the students who performed a show in both Arabic and Japanese. 

Madbouly said during his tour that the Egyptian-Japanese school will start welcoming students as of Sunday. 

For his part, Minister of Education and Technical Education Mohamed Abdel Latif described the Egyptian Japanese schools as a strategic initiative designed to enhance education levels in Egypt in line with the directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi as part of Egypt's Vision 2030.

 

Suez Culture Palace

During his tour, Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli also visited the Suez Culture Palace to stand on the renovation activities, where he ensured interest in getting the Suez Culture Palace to return to practicing its normal role to spread culture and promote the Egyptian identity.

Madbouli also entitled the Ministry of Planning with providing EGP 50 million for the company implementing the renovation activities in the palace from the budget reserve in addition to EGP 50 million from the Ministry of Local Development and Suez Governorate.

 

Egyptian-German Pump Company "Ruhrpumpen Egypt”

During his tour today in Suez Governorate, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, and his companions inspected the headquarters of the Egyptian-German Pump Company "Ruhrpumpen Egypt", which is pump technology company that offers highly-engineered and standard pumping solutions.

Ruhrpumpen is one of the world's leading manufacturers of centrifugal and reciprocating pumps with a wide range of pumping solutions across industries.

At the premises of the company, the premier was briefed by General Director of the company Mohamed Shehata on the activities of the company which was established in 2006 as a joint venture.

The annual production rate of the company has reached 520 pumps, with a local manufacturing ratio of up to 75 percent for certain models, Shehata said

In 2023, the company's sales reached 10.3 million euros, Shehata noted. He added that the company aims to achieve sales of 11 million euros by the end of 2024.

 

Universal Furniture Factory

Prime Minister Madbouli inspected Universal Furniture Factory in the free zone in Suez's Attaqa district. According to the factory's board chairman Hassan Attas, the factory was set up in 2020 at dlrs 5 million Saudi investments, and 40% of its products depend on local components.

 

Opening "Port Tawfiq Walkway”

Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, concluded his visit to Suez Governorate by inaugurating the "Port Tawfiq Walkway" overlooking the Suez Canal navigation channel. 

The development work carried out at the site was concluded in a record time of about 60 days in coordination with the Suez Canal Authority and the Third Field Army, according to the Port Tawfiq Walkway Major General Tarek El Shazly. 

The Port Tawfiq Walkway extends from Badr Mosque to the historical monument with a length of 1,300 meters.
