CAIRO – 25 October 2024: Israeli forces early on Friday raided the Kamal Adwan Hospital in Beit Lahiya in northern Gaza, the Palestinian News and Information Agency (WAFA) reported.

Witnesses stated that soldiers stormed the hospital premises, directing patients to relocate to the central courtyard. Meanwhile, other reports indicate that several children were killed after the forces shelled the oxygen facility.

The hospital director mentioned that ongoing shelling by Israeli forces had caused damage to windows in patient rooms.

The previous night, the hospital was encircled by Israeli military vehicles that fired towards the facility, putting at risk the lives of sick children inside.

Furthermore, soldiers obstructed vital aid from reaching the hospital, where more than 15 patients urgently require surgeries that cannot be conducted under the existing siege circumstances.

Since the onset of the Gaza war on October 7, 2023, Israeli forces have killed 42,847 Palestinians, injured over 100,500 others, according to the health ministry in Gaza on Thursday.

The war devastated critical infrastructure, and pushed the enclave toward the brink of famine.
