CAIRO - 24 October 2024: Egyptian Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Sherif Fathy, and his Italian counterpart Daniela Garniero Santanche inaugurated the Italian Hospitality School in Hurghada, Red Sea Governorate, during his visit today to Hurghada.
 
The opening was also attended by Amr El-Qadi, CEO of the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Authority, Dr. Mohamed Ismail Khaled, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, Mohamed Fahmy, Assistant Minister of Tourism and Antiquities for Economic Affairs and Supervisor of the Tourism and Antiquities Support Fund, Mohamed Amer, Head of the Central Administration for Hotel Establishments, Shops and Tourist Activities at the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, and the delegation accompanying the Italian Minister of Tourism.
 
Minister Fathy pointed out that this project is a model to be emulated for cooperation between the public and private sectors, as well as an important example of a tourism investor who has an investment mindset and a great interest in developing and raising the efficiency of the human element in the tourism industry, noting the Egyptian state's keenness to support and encourage such models of investments in the tourism sector.
 
The Minister of Tourism and Antiquities also spoke about his keenness and interest in the importance of training and qualifying workers in the tourism industry in Egypt in a way that contributes to its advancement and the development of services provided to tourists and visitors, which is one of the main pillars of the ministry's strategy during the current period.
 
He appreciated the important opportunities this project provides for workers in the tourism sector to exchange experiences and cultures between Egypt and Italy and graduate trained and qualified workers to work in the tourism sector.
 
Sherif Fathy also touched on the distinguished relations and cultural convergence between Egypt and Italy at the popular and governmental levels, especially in light of the remarkable progress and development witnessed by Egyptian-Italian relations at the level of the political leaderships of the two countries and the various aspects of cooperation that link the two countries.
 
In his speech, he stressed the importance of the tourism industry, especially in light of the job opportunities it provides and its contribution to supporting peace and achieving understanding and rapprochement between peoples, noting the importance of tourism being based primarily on achieving the security and freedom of tourists and providing ease of transportation and movement in various tourist areas.
