CAIRO – 24 October 2024: Qatar has expressed its commitment to working closely with Egypt to find a lasting solution to the ongoing conflict in Gaza. Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani revealed that he and his Egyptian counterpart are exploring various initiatives to address the humanitarian crisis in the region.

In a recent statement, the Qatari Foreign Minister highlighted the importance of a sustainable solution to the Palestinian issue. He also condemned the Israeli blockade on northern Gaza, which has exacerbated the suffering of the Palestinian people.

Furthermore, the Qatari official discussed with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken ways to halt the ongoing conflict in Lebanon and ensure compliance with UN Security Council Resolution 1701.

This resolution calls for a cessation of hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah and the deployment of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL).
