CAIRO – 24 October 2024: The BRICS group has commended Egypt and the United Arab Emirates for their significant efforts in combating climate change. This acknowledgment comes as part of ongoing international recognition for the role both nations have played in addressing climate-related challenges.

Their initiatives have focused on sustainable development, environmental protection, and cooperation with global partners to advance climate goals.

Egypt has been a key player in climate negotiations and environmental protection, consistently aligning its policies with international frameworks such as the Paris Agreement. Egypt’s efforts include hosting the COP27 climate conference in 2022 and championing green energy projects across Africa and the Middle East.

These efforts have positioned the country as a regional leader in climate action, gaining the respect and recognition of global organizations, including BRICS.

The UAE, on the other hand, has made significant strides in promoting renewable energy and sustainable practices.

The country has invested heavily in solar energy projects and other green initiatives, demonstrating a long-term commitment to reducing its carbon footprint. The UAE’s efforts are aligned with its vision for a sustainable future, as outlined in its national climate strategies.

The combined efforts of Egypt and the UAE in the field of climate change have not only contributed to their own sustainability goals but have also set an example for other nations.

BRICS has lauded this cooperation, recognizing that such collaboration is essential to tackling global environmental issues.
