CAIRO – 22 October 2024: Minister of Labor, Mohamed Gibran, announced ON Wednesdy that a total of LE 3.38 million in compensation has been disbursed to the families of 16 deceased and 9 injured victims of the Manshaat Al-Qanater microbus drowning tragedy.

 

He stated that LE 200,000 has been allocated to each family of the deceased, while LE 20,000 has been provided to each injured person.

 

The minister emphasized that providing support, protection, and care for informal workers is a central goal of the government’s program, in line with directives from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

 

Minister Gibran explained that the Central Administration for Informal Workers has been in continuous contact with the families of the victims and the injured since the incident occurred. After completing all the necessary paperwork, the compensation payments were approved today.

 

This initiative is part of the ongoing efforts to ensure the welfare and rights of informal workers in Egypt, offering them financial support during such tragic events.
