Egypt's Ministry of Health Provides 1.2 Million Vaccine Doses to Refugees

CAIRO - 21 October 2024: Egypt's Ministry of Health has revealed that it has administered 1.2 million vaccine doses to refugees in the country. The announcement was made during the second edition of the Global Conference on Population, Health, and Development, which was held in Cairo.

 

Dr. Rady Hammad, head of the Preventive Medicine Sector at the Ministry of Health, stated that Egypt has provided preventive healthcare services to 9 million refugees. He also mentioned that the country has a robust surveillance system in place, with 28 environmental monitoring sites and 11 sites for monitoring hepatitis B.

 

The conference aimed to promote human development through sustainable growth, effective governance, and community engagement. Key topics discussed included universal health coverage, climate change, and the role of technology in improving healthcare.

 

By addressing these critical issues, the event aims to create actionable solutions for a more sustainable and inclusive future.
