CAIRO – 16 October 2024: British Minister of State for the Middle East and North Africa, Hamish Falconer, arrived at Arish Airport in North Sinai today to assess Egypt's efforts in receiving and coordinating international aid for the Gaza Strip.

Accompanying the British minister and his delegation was Major General Dr. Khaled Magawir, Governor of North Sinai. They were welcomed at Arish Airport by Major General Assim Saadawi, Deputy Governor of North Sinai, Dr. Khaled Zayed, head of the Red Crescent branch in North Sinai, and a number of representatives from the Egyptian Red Crescent.

The Governor of North Sinai briefed Falconer on Egypt's efforts since the outbreak of the Israeli war on Gaza, including the organization of the reception of international aid and its preparation for rapid transfer to the besieged sector, in support of the Palestinian people during this crisis.

This visit comes amid growing international efforts to provide humanitarian aid to Gaza, and Egypt is reaffirming its pivotal role in facilitating the passage of aid through its territory.
