Iranian FM to visit Egypt Oct. 17 to discuss de-escalation in Middle East

CAIRO – 16 October 2024: Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs Abbas Araghchi will hold an official visit to Egypt Thursday, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration Badr Abdel Aty announced Wednesday in a joint press conference with his Spanish counterpart.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry's spokesperson had stated on X that he would hold a tour comprising Jordan, Egypt and Turkey within diplomatic efforts aimed at ending "genocide, atrocity and aggression."

Minister Abdel Aty and Minister Araghchi  met on September 28 on the sidelines of the high-level segment of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 79) in New York to confer over the Israeli escalation in Gaza Strip and Lebanon as well as violence in the West Bank.
