CAIRO – 16 October 2024: The Medusa-13 joint exercise has kicked off in Greece within the Mediterranean Sea, engaging air, naval, air defense and special forces from Egypt, Greece, Cyprus, France and Saudi Arabia.
Moreover, Italy, Bahrain, Rwanda, Bulgaria, and Morocco are participating in the drills in an observer capacity, said the Armed Forces’ spokesman, Gharib Abdel Hafez, in a statement on Tuesday.
The training, which spans several days, will see the participating forces executing various training activities and joint planning for maritime and aerial combat operations against all threats.
The exercise will also involve conducting combat activities and unconventional shooting exercises to demonstrate the advanced training capabilities of the participating forces in various specialties.
On the sidelines of Medusa-13, special forces from the participating countries will conduct the joint training exercises Mina-3 and Hercules-3, with the aim of exchanging expertise and unifying operational concepts among the participating forces.
The Egyptian army spokesman emphasized that this training falls within the framework of expanding partnership and military cooperation with the armed forces of brotherly and friendly countries.
