CAIRO - 8 October 2024: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received a phone call Tuesday from Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides, which discussed bilateral relations and the regional situation.
The two presidents emphasized their commitment to strengthening ties especially in the economic fields, energy, and electrical interconnection, as well as the tripartite cooperation mechanism with Greece and periodic meetings.
The presidential spokesperson added that the call discussed regional developments and ways to calm the situation in the region. Sisireiterated the need for all parties to exercise wisdom and responsibility and to immediately cease fire in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon, warning of the danger of continued escalation and consequences for all peoples of the region and their aspirations for stability and development.
For his part, the Cypriot president appreciated the Egyptian efforts to restore stability in the region, stressing his country's keenness to support all efforts aimed at restoring peace and security in the region.
