Egypt’s National dialogue to outline sessions focusing on homeland security, foreign policy amid regional military escalation

CAIRO – 29 September 2024: Diaa Rashwan, the General Coordinator of the Egyptian National Dialogue, confirmed that in response to President Sisi’s recent call to prevent the conflict from escalating in the region, the Board of Trustees will meet tomorrow, Monday, to discuss and outline sessions focused on national security and foreign policy.

 

Following these discussions, the recommendations will be submitted to the President for his consideration, he added, noting that President El-Sisi has reiterated his call for the national dialogue to prioritize national security and foreign policy issues in its activities during the current and upcoming period.

 

while attending the graduation ceremony of the 2024 class of the Police Academy on Sunday, President Sisi underlined Egypt’s keenness to maintain balanced policy amidst the current serious regional disruption and extremely difficult circumstances across the region.

 

He expressed understanding of the Egyptian people’s concerns about the critical developments in the region and potential expansion of the conflict, affecting regional stability.

 

However, the president sent a message of reassurance to citizens regarding the nation’s stability, urging them to remain united in the face of the challenges beyond the Egyptian southern, eastern and western borders.
