CAIRO – 28 September 2024: The Lebanese Hezbollah announced the martyrdom of its leader Hassan Nasrallah, Secretary-General of Hezbollah, after Israel bombed its main headquarters in Dahieh, southern Beirut, on Friday.

In a statement released on Saturday, Hezbollah said: “His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, Secretary-General of Hezbollah, has joined his great, immortal martyr comrades whose path he led for nearly thirty years, guiding them from victory to victory.”

According to Israeli media, the Israeli army launched 83 tons of explosives to kill Nasrallah and a number of his leaders in the Dahieh attack.

The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) mourned Nasrallah, saying “History has proven that resistance against the zionist enemy, with all its factions and wherever they are found, whenever its leaders die as martyrs, will be succeeded by a generation of leaders more formidable, stronger, and more determined to continue the confrontation with this zionist enemy until it is defeated and removed from our land and region.”

Iranian Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei issued a message addressing the recent developments in Lebanon, saying “"All the Resistance forces of the region are with Hezbollah and support it."

In a press conference on Saturday, Israeli armed forces spokesperson announced that they killed Nasrallah in a raid targeted the main headquarters of Hezbollah.
