CAIRO – 26 September 2024: Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, the Prime Minister of Egypt, held a meeting at the new administrative capital with Olaf Hofmann, President of the German-Arab Chamber of Commerce, and his accompanying delegation.
The meeting was attended by several Egyptian ministers and officials, including the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, the Minister of Investment and International Cooperation, and the Secretary-General of the Arab Chambers Federation.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Prime Minister welcomed the re-election of Olaf Hofmann as President of the German-Arab Chamber of Commerce, noting the significance of the German delegation's visit in light of the recent visit by the German President to Egypt, the first such visit in 25 years.
Dr. Mostafa Madbouly expressed his pleasure at meeting with several German companies during a reception hosted by the German embassy in Cairo in honor of the German President's visit.
The Prime Minister emphasized the deep historical relations between the two countries at various levels, noting that there are a large number of German companies operating in Egypt (1600 companies) involved in a number of important projects for the Egyptian state. He commended the important role of these companies and expressed his aspiration to increase the volume of trade between the two countries, which currently stands at around 6 billion euros.
During the meeting, the Minister of Tourism indicated that Egypt receives around 1.5 million German tourists annually, praising the cooperation between the two countries in this field and welcoming German investments in the tourism sector.
The Minister of Investment expressed his happiness with the recent visit of the German President to Egypt and the importance of ongoing communication between the two countries, particularly between Egyptian and German companies. He highlighted the incentives offered by Egypt to investors in various sectors, especially the automotive industry and renewable energy.
