CAIRO – 25 September 2024: The foreign ministers of Egypt, Jordan, and Iraq have denounced the Israeli aggression on Lebanon, emphasizing that Tel Aviv is dangerously propelling the region towards all-out war.

In a meeting held on the sidelines of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA 79) in New York on Tuesday, the foreign ministers issued a joint statement, holding Israel accountable for the escalating crisis that poses severe repercussions for the entire region.

They urged the international community and the United Nations Security Council to fulfill their duties in averting the looming threat of all-out war.

The ministers stated that de-escalating this regional tension must begin with putting an end to Israeli aggression in Gaza.

In the last few days, Israel has launched a relentless series of airstrikes across Lebanon, the deadliest on the Arab nation in nearly a decade. The strikes have killed almost 600 individuals, including women and children, and left hundreds more injured.

The assaults on Lebanon coincide with the Israeli war in Gaza, nearing its one-year mark. Israeli airstrikes and ground offensives have killed almost 41,500 individuals, wounded over 96,000 others and edged the enclave closer to the brink of famine.
