CAIRO – 17 September 2024: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Egyptian Expats Badr Abdelatty made Tuesday a phone call to his Vietnamese counterpart Bùi Thanh Sơn expressing aspiration to reinforce joint cooperation in both the political and economic realms as well as boost trade and tourism.
The minister equally commended the positive existing cooperation between Egypt and Vietnam at the international community level, inviting his counterpart to visit Cairo to hold talks on expanding bilateral ties.
In 2017, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi held a visit to Vietnam, which was the first by an Egyptian chief of state to the country. As such, the two countries signed 17 MoUs in the fields of investment, tourism, culture, energy and trade among others.
