Egypt offers condolences to Niger for floods victims

CAIRO – 12 September 2024: Egypt voiced its solidarity with Niger, which has been recently hit by heavy rainfalls and floodings that killed hundreds of people, the Foreign Ministry of Egypt said in a statement on Thursday.

 

According to the International Rescue Committee, the floods impacted more than 841,000 people as over 400,000 people have been displaced, while hundreds of others lost their lives. It has been reported that the floods killed more than 270 people, Anadolu reported last week.

 

Egypt offered its condolences to the government, people and relatives of the victims for this loss. Cairo also voiced its wish for a speedy recovery for the injured people, the statement continued.
