CAIRO – 12 September 2024: President Abdel Fatal El-Sisi met Thursday in Cairo Kuwaiti Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdullah Al-Yahya who is in a visit to Egypt to co-chair along with his Egyptian counterpart the 13th session of the joint committee.
In that framework, the meeting tackled steps taken to bolster bilateral cooperation. Further, the two sides exchanged views on regional affairs, discussing ways to push forward Arab joint work in the face of the current challenges. In that context, President Sisi displayed Egypt's mediation endeavors in partnership with the United States and Qatar to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza Strip, which in turn, would facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid to residents, and bring an end to regional escalation.
Similarly, President Sisi valued Kuwait's stances that back the Palestinian Cause. In turn, the Kuwaiti minister commended the central Egyptian role in efforts aimed at reinstating stability in the Middle East, stressing the importance that all parties must act responsibly to halt the bloodshed and avoid the expansion of the scope of conflict.
Minister Al-Yahya delivered the greetings of Emir of Kuwait Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, lauding the outcomes of his highness' visit to Cairo in April. On his side, President Sisi asked the minister to send his greetings to the Emir applauding the outstanding relations between the two countries.
