CAIRO - 11 September 2024: Cairo was hit by a heat wave, where its peak is witnessed Wednesday, recording highs of 40 degrees. 

According to the weather forecast map issued by the General Authority for Meteorology, the wave is expected to break as of Thursday on the Northern Coasts, with a decrease of one degree in Greater Cairo, followed by another decrease of one degree in Greater Cairo on Friday, but the weather will remain very hot.

The Meteorological Authority indicated that the heat wave is expected to end and temperatures will return to their rates starting next Saturday, as temperatures are expected to drop in most parts by values ​​ranging from (4:3) degrees starting from Saturday, September 14, with humidity levels continuing to rise.

On Wednesday, temperatures will continue to rise in most parts by values ​​ranging from 4:5 degrees, with very hot weather prevailing during the day, tending to be hot and humid at night in most parts.

Today is expected to witness continued high humidity levels, which will increase the feeling of hot weather than expected by values ​​ranging from 2:3 degrees, with the presence of suspended dust in some areas of Greater Cairo.

Alexandria records highs of 36 degrees maximum and lows of 26 minimum

Marsa Matrouh records highs of 34 degrees maximum and lows of 24 minimum

Sohag records highs of 41 degrees maximum and lows of 27 minimum

Qena records highs of 41 degrees maximum and lows of 28 minimum

Aswan records highs of 42 degrees maximum and lows of 29 minimum
