CAIRO – 11 September 2024: As part of ongoing efforts by the Egyptian Armed Forces to enhance military cooperation with friendly and allied nations, Vice Admiral Ashraf Atwa, Commander of the Egyptian Navy, met with Admiral Edward Green, Senior Advisor to the UK Chief of Defense for Middle East and North Africa Affairs, and Engineer Vice Admiral Gael Diaz, Director of International Development at the French Directorate General of Armaments (DGA). The meetings took place during their visits to the Naval Command in Alexandria.

 

The discussions focused on several topics of mutual interest, including coordinating efforts for military cooperation and exchanging expertise between the Egyptian Navy and its British and French counterparts.

 

Both visits also included tours of several naval units to showcase the latest advancements in training and armament systems that the Egyptian Navy has recently implemented.

 

These meetings reaffirm the strong and enduring ties between the Egyptian Armed Forces and their counterparts in allied and friendly nations, emphasizing the shared commitment to security and stability in the region.
