CAIRO – 9 September 2024: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Egyptian Expats Badr Abdelatty stated Monday that the Israeli lies were aimed at diverting attention from efforts targeted at accomplishing a ceasefire, immediate supply of humanitarian aid, and captive exchange.

The minister expressed rejection to "Israeli statements and lies about Gaza borders," saying that Israel and the entire international community knew about the major achievements made by Egypt on eliminating tunnels over the past decade.

Minister Abdelatty further asserted Egypt's commitment to leading negotiations until a ceasefire would be achieved, and until aggression against the residents of Gaza, the West Bank and East Jerusalem would be stopped.

The minister added that the only solution to regional stability was ending the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories. He equally underscored that the persistence of the closure of the Palestinian side of Rafah Border Crossing by Israel had been depriving Gaza from humanitarian aid.

The statements made by the Egyptian minister were made during a press statement with his Danish counterpart, who had met with President Abdel Fatah El-Sisi to confer over regional and international issues, including that of Gaza enduring harsh humanitarian conditions.

Minister Abdelatty added that there was congruence among the two sides on the importance of combating terrorism, and increasing Danish investments in Egypt.

On his side, the Danish foreign minister said he looked forward to his scheduled visit to Arish as well as President Sisi's upcoming visit to Copenhagen.
