CAIRO – 8 September 2024: Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Expatriates Affairs Badr Abdelatty met in Abu Dhabi with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, on Sunday.
Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Director of the Public Diplomacy Department, noted that Minister Abdelatty conveyed President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's greetings to Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed.
Abdelatty highlighted Egypt's pride in ongoing high-level communication with the UAE leadership and emphasized Cairo’s commitment to using these meetings to foster further cooperation that benefits both nations.
The Minister also congratulated Sheikh Mohammed on the successful UAE presidency of the 28th session of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change COP28 in Dubai. He commended the strong bilateral relations and diverse cooperation frameworks, expressing Egypt’s eagerness to enhance the economic and investment partnership between the two countries.
Ambassador Abu Zeid mentioned that the meeting included discussions on regional developments and strategies to de-escalate tensions, including issues related to Gaza, Sudan, the Red Sea security, Libya, and Somalia. Both sides agreed to continue consultations on these matters.
At the meeting's conclusion, Sheikh Mohammed expressed his deep appreciation for Egyptian leadership and the progress Egypt has made over the past decade under President El-Sisi.
