CAIRO – 7 September 2024: Egyptian Minister for Foreign Affairs and Immigration Badr Abdelatty headed, on Saturday, to Abu Dhabi in a visit, during which he would tackle the enhancement of the bilateral relations between Egypt and the UAE.

In a statement released by the Ministry, the Spokesman of the Foreign Ministry Ahmed Abu Zeid added that Minister Abdelatty will also discuss with senior UAE officials the regional and international challenges that endanger the stability of the Middle East.

It is scheduled that Abdelatty would meet with representatives of the Egyptian community in the Emirates; additionally, he would meet with UAE investors and businesspersons, Abu Zeid said.

On August 8, 2024, Abdelatty spoke by phone with his Emirati counterpart, Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed, to discuss recent developments in the Gaza Strip and the escalating situation in the Middle East.

The two ministers focused on efforts to achieve a ceasefire and facilitate the entry of humanitarian aid into the enclave. They agreed on the critical need for a truce, noting that the conflict in Gaza is a major factor driving the increasing tensions and escalation in the region.

In this context, Minister Abdelatty shared the results of his recent discussions with other counterparts aimed at containing the crisis and preventing the conflict from widening.
