Tayyeb highlighted the gap between Islamic teachings related to water rationalization and behaviors of some Muslims on the ground.

He also pointed out to Azhar's readiness for creating a specific curriculum focusing on modern societal issues, topped by environment and climate topics, in addition to raising the awareness about the need of water rationalization.

He made these remarks on Saturday during his meeting with Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Hani Sewilam and Minister of Awqaf Osama el Azhari to discuss ways to raise awareness about water conservation.

Furthermore, he stressed the importance of launching media campaigns to raise awareness about the water issue and present it attractively to children and youths.

He highlighted the importance of mosques in addressing contemporary societal issues and training imams to handle these topics.

For his part, Sewilam highlighted the importance of water conservation and announced upcoming awareness campaigns with Al Azhar scholars and cultural symbols to promote this cause.

The Awqaf minister stated that his ministry is working with the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation to train imams on water conservation, enabling them to promote environmental awareness through sermons and mosque lessons.
