CAIRO – 6 September 2024: The Turkish Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Uraloglu, announced on Thursday that the number of reciprocal flights between Türkiye and Egypt will more than double, Anadolu News Agency reported on Thursday.

Under a new agreement signed between Turkish and Egyptian civil aviation authorities, the frequency of flights will increase from 30 per week to 67.

The announcement followed a meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council in Ankara on Wednesday, co-chaired by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi. During this meeting, three agreements were finalized in the fields of railways, information and communications technologies, and civil aviation.

This visit marks the first presidential-level Egyptian visit to Türkiye in a decade and reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen ties between the Mediterranean neighbors.
