In turn, the minister stressed that Egypt would always provide the necessary support for her to carry out the mission stated in UNSC resolution no. 2720 on facilitating the entry of humanitarian aid.

Kaag presented her efforts in the past period to facilitate the entry and distribution of aid in Gaza, and participation in the immunization campaign against Polio, which kicked off today. Nevertheless, she pointed out to the difficulties ensuing from the unceasing military operations and deterioration of security conditions.

In a related context, Minister Abdelatty expressed Egypt's objection to attempts to duplicate the crisis of Gaza Strip in the West Bank, stipulating the salience of containing military escalation there, and the protection of Palestinian residents by Israel in fulfillment of its duties as an occupational force.

The minister lauded the cooperation between the UN mechanism and the Egyptian Red Crescent on aid delivery, stressing the importance of completing the measures that would enable circumventing the obstacles set by Israel and periodically briefing the UNSC on updates.
