CAIRO – 29 August 2024: The total death toll from the Israeli aggression has now risen to 40,602 martyrs and 93,855 injuries since October 7, 2023, the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza said in a daily statistical report on Thursday.

Over the past 24 hours, the Israeli occupation has committed four massacres against families in the Gaza Strip, the report added, noting that this has resulted in 68 martyrs and 77 injuries being admitted to hospitals.

Some victims remain trapped under rubble or stranded on the roads, with ambulance and civil defense teams unable to reach them, the report continued

Israel continued its airstrikes on various parts of the Gaza Strip, even after the release of the Health Ministry’s report. Airstrikes targeted residential areas in Deir Al Balah in the central Gaza Strip and the city of Gaza in the north. Additionally, Israeli forces opened fire on civilians in Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip.

In the occupied West Bank, Israel launched a military operation in the cities of Jenin, Tulkarm, and Nablus. According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, 17 people were killed in this operation, which also resulted in the destruction of several homes and significant damage to infrastructure. The commander of Saraya Al-Quds in Tulkarm, Abu Shujaa, was reported killed during clashes with Israeli forces, as confirmed by Hamas and the Mujahideen Movement in statements on Thursday.
