CAIRO – 28 August 2024: A veil of clouds has settled over different parts of Egypt, including the bustling city of Greater Cairo, and is expected to persist in the hours ahead, offering a chance of gentle showers.
Apart from Greater Cairo, regions in northern Upper Egypt, the southern Nile Delta, cities along the Suez Canal, and northern Sinai may also experience light and insignificant rainfall throughout the day.
Looking ahead to next week, temperatures are forecasted to remain steady, with daytime heat prevailing in most areas and particularly scorching conditions in South Sinai and southern Egypt.
All areas across the nation expect warm nights until the end of the next week.
In Cairo and the Nile Delta, daytime temperatures are likely to reach around 35 degrees Celsius. However, the humidity levels are expected to make it feel more like a warmer 36-39 degrees.
For Alexandria, Matrouh, and the North Coast, temperatures are expected to linger in the early 30s, but it will feel closer to the mid-30s due to humidity.
Down in South Sinai, including the popular resort city of Sharm El-Sheikh, temperatures are anticipated to soar to 40 degrees, slightly tapering off in the following week, with actual temperatures climbing a few degrees higher.
In northern Upper Egypt, temperatures will vary from 37 to 40 degrees Celsius, with apparent temperatures peaking at 42 degrees but remaining below 40 for the most part.
Meanwhile, southern Upper Egypt, home to the enchanting cities of Luxor and Aswan, will experience scorching temperatures ranging from 41 to 44 degrees, with apparent temperatures nudging up by a degree.
