CAIRO – 25 August 2024: The Hamas negotiation delegation left Cairo this evening after meeting with mediators from Egypt and Qatar, where they reviewed the results of the latest round of negotiations, said Hamas Political Bureau member Izzat Al-Rishq in a statement on Sunday evening.

The delegation demanded that the occupation adhere to the agreements made on July 2nd, which are based on President Biden's speech and the UN Security Council resolution, he continued.

Hamas affirmed its readiness to implement the agreements in a way that serves the best interests of our people and halts the aggression against them, he added.

The delegation reiterated that any agreement must include a permanent ceasefire, a complete withdrawal from Gaza, the freedom for residents to return to their areas, relief and reconstruction efforts, and a serious prisoner exchange deal, Rishq said.

Cairo currently serves as the venue for crucial negotiations involving representatives from Israel, Hamas, and the US to mediate a ceasefire agreement.

This agreement aims to halt the relentless Israeli airstrikes since October 7 and pave the way for a potential prisoner exchange between both sides.

Yesterday evening, a delegation from Hamas movement- led by Khalil Al Hayah, to listen and be briefed on Israeli suggestion regarding the deals and the plan of withdrawal of Israeli soldiers from the Salah El Din (aka Philadelphi) corridor along borders between the Strip and Egypt.

Meanwhile, A senior Israeli delegation, led by Mossad director David Barnea and Shin Bet director Ronen Bar, arrived in Cairo on Sunday morning for ceasefire negotiations, and left in evening, according Israeli media. It also has been reported that the Israeli delegation would brief Natnyahu on the outcomes of the talks.
