Counselor Abdel Razzak Mahmoud Shoaib takes the oath before President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi as the new head of the State Lawsuits Authority – Presidency
CAIRO – 21 August 2024: Counselor Abdel Razzak Mahmoud Shoaib took the oath before President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on Wednesday as the new head of the State Lawsuits Authority, succeeding Counselor Mossad Abdel Maksoud Bayoumi.
President Sisi also awarded Bayoumi the Order of the Republic, first class, the Presidency said in a statement.
The Order of the Republic, which consists of five classes, is bestowed upon Egyptian and foreigner ministers, accredited ambassadors, and those in equivalent positions, as well as those who provide distinguished services to the republic.
President Sisi expressed gratitude for the State Lawsuits Authority's efforts in safeguarding the state’s rights and upholding public funds.
He underscored the importance of judicial independence, justice consolidation, and the protection of rights and responsibilities within the constitutional and legal framework as crucial pillars for the nation and society's progress.
Shoaib officially assumed office on August 15 following a presidential decree after Bayoumi ended his term due to reaching the retirement age.
Shoaib, 69, has held various high-ranking positions within the State Lawsuits Authority since his appointment a year after graduating from the Faculty of Law at Ain Shams University in 1977.
The State Lawsuits Authority is an independent Egyptian judicial institution mandated by law to safeguard public funds and pursue civil actions.
It acts as the state's legal civil prosecution before judiciary, locally and abroad, serving as a robust legal barrier against attacks on public funds and encroachments on the interests of the Egyptian people.
