CAIRO – 19 August 2024: Minister of Education and Technical Education Mohamed Abdel Latif stated Monday that the number of Egyptian-Japanese schools would be upped to 100 in academic year 2024/2025.

The current number is 51, having a total of 13,000 students, and they are distributed among various governorates.

Those schools teach the new Egyptian curriculum dubbed "2.0", and Japan's Tokkatsu system, which consists of activities that focus on the development of the children's non-cognitive skills.

That is by developing their autonomous abilities, social and independent attitudes, and establishing human relationships that form the basis for academic achievement. Tokkatsu in Egypt is implemented through a bunch of activities such as the Classroom Discussion, Class Instruction, Daily Coordinator, Cleaning, and others similar to what is applied in the schools in Japan.
