CAIRO – 15 August 2024: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi issued Decree No. 93 of 2024 approving the agreement for Egypt to host the Center of Excellence for Climate Change and Adaptation, affiliated with the African Union Development Agency (NEPAD).

 

The House of Representatives had previously approved this decision in its session held on April 23.

 

The decision has been officially published in the country's official gazette on Thursday.

 

With this agreement, Egypt is set to play a pivotal role in climate change initiatives across the African continent, enhancing its position as a leader in climate adaptation and sustainable development efforts.
