Egypt expresses rejection to meddling with internal affairs of Sudan

CAIRO – 11 August 2024: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Egyptian Expats Badr Abdelatty met Sunday with Chairman of the Sudanese Sovereign Council Abdel Fatah al-Burhan on the sidelines of the oath ceremony of the Rwandan president.

Minister Abdelatty delivered the greetings of President Abdel Fatah El-Sisi, affirming Egypt's support to Sudan, its institutions, unity and territorial integrity. The minister also stressed rejection to meddling with the internal affairs of Sudan, and Egypt's eagerness for fulfilling the humanitarian and rescue needs of the country.

The meeting tackled the efforts deployed to bring peace and stability to Sudan. On his side, General Burhan expressed appreciation to Egypt for hosting displaced Sudanese and for backing his country.
