Cairo - 2 August 2024: In Kafr El-Zayat, Gharbia Governorate, villagers gathered to bid farewell to three esteemed producers from Synergy, a prominent cinema production entity under United Media Services (UMS).
A large crowd performed the funeral prayers for Hossam Shawki, the general production supervisor at Synergy, alongside producers Mahmoud Kamal and Fathy Ismail, earnestly praying for Allah's mercy to be bestowed upon them.
The funeral, attended by numerous cinema stars and Ashraf Zaki, the Head of the Egyptian Acting Professions Syndicate, marked the passing of these industry stalwarts.
The three producers alongside a fourth colleague, producer Tamer Fathy, were on their way to spend their summer vacation in the North Coast on Thursday after months of hard work.
Tragically, their vehicle overturned and caught fire on the Al Dabaa Corridor, claiming their lives.
Fathy was the sole survivor of the crash. However, he painfully succumbed to his severe injuries after being rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
The news of the accident plunged the villagers of Kafr El-Zayat into deep sorrow, with Shawki's uncle visibly overcome with grief at the loss of his nephew.
Ambulances and civil protection teams rushed to the scene of the burning wreckage, finally extracting their bodies.
The Public Prosecution initiated an investigation into the incident, with a specialized engineering committee tasked with examining the burnt vehicle to determine the cause of the fatal crash.
The UMS expressed profound sadness at the loss, offering prayers for strength and comfort to the families and loved ones of the departed during this challenging period.
The memorial service for the four producers will take place at the Police Officers’ Mosque in Sheikh Zayed, Giza, on Sunday following the Maghrib prayer (around 8 PM).
