Egypt’s Armed Forces mourns 1st female officer in army

CAIRO – 31 July 2024: The General Command of the Armed Forces mourned on Wednesday Egypt’s 1st female officer Ebtesamat Mohamed Abdullah, who passed away at the age of 97.

In an official statement, the Armed Forces said that Ebtesamat Abdullah played a heroic role in the 1948 Palestine War, where she carried weapons and participated in nursing operations for those injured in operations during the war in the field hospital that Egypt prepared inside Gaza City.

The Armed Forces extended its sincere condolences to her family, praying to God Almighty to have mercy on her and inspire her family with patience and solace.
