CAIRO – 30 July 2024: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi received Tuesday at New Alamain Chadian counterpart Mahamat Idriss Deby as an official reception had been held before talks took place.
President Sisi expressed Egypt's eagerness for transferring the country's experience in the sectors of energy, infrastructure, healthcare, education, agriculture, livestock, security, and counterterrorism. In that framework, the two presidents agreed on accelerating the activation of the joint committee, which in turn would speed up the launch of planned joint projects.
President Deby also expressed appreciation for Egypt's support over the past decades, and valued the role played by Egyptian establishments in the sectors of education, culture, and infrastructure.
The meeting equally included consultations on African issues of joint concern, mainly the ongoing armed conflict in Sudan and security in Sahel. There was congruence among both leaders on the necessity of a ceasefire in Sudan and on backing efforts aimed at stability in Libya as well as consolidating the security status in Sahel in the face of terror threats.
