CAIRO – 29 July 2024: Egyptian political parties have lauded the national dialogue as a vital platform for discussing and addressing political, social, and legal issues. They have emphasized its role in fostering national cohesion and enhancing political participation.
Nagi El-Shahaby, head of the Democratic Generation Party, stated that the national dialogue has spurred significant momentum in political and social life, especially following the enthusiastic reception and optimism generated by the various committees' sessions. He highlighted the marked difference in the management of these sessions and the ensuing discussions compared to previous experiences.
El-Shahaby further emphasized that the dialogue has significantly enhanced political participation, mobilizing active political parties and influencing public engagement. He stressed the importance of continuing the dialogue without exclusions or red lines, and urged the new government to implement the dialogue's recommendations.
Dr. Hisham Abdel Aziz, head of the Reform and Renaissance Party, noted that the national dialogue has been ongoing for two years and has yielded significant and practical recommendations benefiting citizens. He emphasized the dialogue's importance in facilitating communication between the government, political forces, trade unions, and civil society, ensuring that the government remains attuned to public sentiment.
Dr. Saeed Ganim, First Deputy Chairman of the Conference Party, highlighted the national dialogue as a dynamic platform for discussing various pressing issues, including pretrial detention.
He stressed the dialogue's role in fostering a national consensus on key issues and strengthening national cohesion. Ganim also emphasized the dialogue's impact on enhancing political and party life, noting the unprecedented participation of diverse groups with varying ideologies, all united by their love for the nation.
