EgyptAir resumes direct flights between Cairo, Lisbon after 13-year suspension

CAIRO – 25 July 2024: In the evening of July 23, Egyptian Ambassador to Portugal Wael al-Naggar received crew members of the first direct flight between Cairo and Lisbon operated by EgyptAir since 2011.

The flights were resumed to boost the number of tourists also coming from Brazil, United States and Canada. In summer, there will be two flights weekly on Tuesdays and Thursdays but they will be increased in winter.

Egyptian Minister for Foreign Affairs and Immigration Badr Abdel-Aty headed earlier in July to Djibouti and Mogadishu on the first flights operated by the Egyptian national carrier, EgyptAir.
