CAIRO – 24 July 2024: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed Wednesday the decrees issued by UNESCO's World Heritage Committee's decision to keep the Old City of Jerusalem and its walls, the Old City of Hebron, and the Palestine Land of Olives and Grapes site – the cultural landscape of agricultural terraces south of Jerusalem – Battir on the List of World Heritage in Danger.
The decision was made Tuesday during its 46th session that was held in New Delhi. The ministry demanded the Israeli government to end all illegal measures targeted at changing the identity of Eastern Jerusalem, and to respect the status quo of Islamic and Christian sacred places.
