CAIRO – 24 July 2024: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Egyptian Expats Badr Abdel Aty received Tuesday a phone call from French counterpart Stephane Sejourne to confer over regional developments.

Regarding the Gaza War, Minister Abdel Aty pointed out that an international and European recognition of the Palestinian state would set a precise framework for a peace process between the Israelis and the Palestinians.

In that context, the minister highlighted the Israeli actions that cripple the two-state solution such as designating the UNRWA a terrorist organization and the Knesset's disapproval of that solution altogether in contradiction to the UNSC resolutions.

The two sides also tackled the Sudanese crisis, and Minister Abdel Aty presented Egypt's vision on the situation.

In respect of the bilateral ties, the minister expressed appreciation for French support to Egypt at international funding institutions, and aspiration for continuous support at the European Union (EU) with the aim of elevating relations to the level of the comprehensive and strategic partnership, and completing relevant funding packages.
