CAIRO – 23 July 2024: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi made a phone call Tuesday to Former U.S. President Donald Trump to check on his health following the shooting incident.

 

The president wished Trump safety and reiterated his condemnation of all forms of violence and acts of terrorism and hatred. He also noted the close ties between the peoples Egypt and the United States as well as the depth of the strategic partnership between the two countries.

 

On his side, the former U.S. president expressed his appreciation and thanked the Egyptian chief of state for the kind gesture.

 

On July 14, President Sisi posted on his social media accounts saying, “I followed with great concern the heinous incident that occurred with Former U.S. President and Potential Candidate Donald Trump. I stress Egypt’s condemnation and express my wishes of speedy recovery. I hope the continuation of the electoral campaigns in a peaceful and healthy climate free of incidents of terror, violence or hatred.”
