CAIRO – 22 July 2024: CEO of the Egyptian Space Agency received Monday the ambassador of Singapore and an accompanying delegation to discuss joint cooperation, especially in the fields of research projects and training.
A presentation was delivered on the most modern technologies used by the agency to analyze and process satellite photos. The two sides also displayed their experience with developing space technology and applications pertinent to telecommunications, navigation, and environmental monitoring.
Egypt is in the process of launching the African Development Agency – whose mission will be climate change studies - in collaboration with Kenya, Uganda and Nigeria by the end of this year. The four countries have also joined forces to install a remote sensing camera on the International Space Station (ISS). The project is supported by the UN Office for Outer Space Affairs and in collaboration with Airbus.
Egypt is also set to launch a satellite dubbed "SPINX" by the end of this year, and it will be similarly dedicated to studying climate change.
