CAIRO – July 20, 2024: The Ministry of Education in Egypt has directed educational administrations across governorates to establish committees. These committees will inspect schools on-site to assess their current situation, including class density issues. They are tasked with proposing solutions for schools facing density problems.

On July 13, 2024, Egypt’s new Minister of Education Mohamed Abdel Latif revealed that the most prominent problems facing the education system in Egypt are the student density in classes, the shortage of teachers.

He added in his speech at the parliament to review the Ministry’s plan that the number of students in some classes ranges between 120 and 130 students.

If solutions involving case management are not available, administrative alternatives will be explored, such as utilizing Al-Azhar educational institutions, youth centers, or other buildings affiliated with different Ministries.
