CAIRO – 15 July 2024: Egypt condemned Monday the bombing that targeted a café in the Somalian capital, Mogadishu, Sunday, extending condolences to the victims' families and wishing the injured a speedy recovery.

 

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs' statement also expressed solidarity with Somalia and support in fighting terrorism and extremism.

 

A car bomb exploded at a café that was packed with football fans who were watching the Euro 24 final, incurring the death of nine and injury of 20, as reported by the AFP. The attack was carried out by Al Qaeda-linked Al Shabab, which has been active in the country for 17 years.
