CAIRO – 15 July 2024: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Egyptian Expats Badr Abdel Aty convened Monday with senior officials at the sector of Asian affairs as he listened to their assessment of bilateral relations with major countries on the continent, overview of current joint projects as well as future cooperation opportunities.
The focus of the meeting was the economic aspect given that the current government is prioritizing the promotion of investment opportunities and exports in addition to obtaining funding to development projects. In that framework, the minister stressed the necessity of pushing forward relations with Asian economic groups such as the ASEAN.
The minister equally underscored the importance of drawing more attention to the Egyptian culture and civilization. He also instructed revisiting the current collaboration mechanisms with Asian states with the aim of optimizing them not just on the front of economic affairs but also in regard of reciprocal consultations on global affairs of joint interest.
