CAIRO – 14 July 2024: Egypt's First Lady Entissar El-Sisi, accompanied Serbia's First Lady Tamara Vučić on a tour of the renowned National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Cairo on Saturday.
During the visit, the Egyptian First Lady expressed her appreciation to all those who contributed to the completion of this remarkable cultural landmark.
President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić and the Serbian first lady made a visit to Egypt on Saturday, meeting with Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
The two leaders discussed cooperation in various fields, including politics, economics, military affairs, culture, tourism, agriculture, and communications.
They also tackled commercial cooperation and the enhancement of investments.
In addition to bilateral relations, the leaders addressed several critical regional and global issues, such as the Israeli war on Gaza, the Russian-Ukraine conflict, and the developments in Sudan and Libya.
Regarding the crisis in Gaza, President Sisi emphasized the urgent need to achieve an immediate and comprehensive ceasefire.
Sisi reaffirmed Egypt's rejection of the displacement of Palestinians and any attempts to undermine the Palestinian cause.
He underscored the importance of halting the targeting of civilians and violence by settlers.
Furthermore, Sisi expressed Cairo's opposition to using the Rafah crossing as a means to tighten the siege on the Palestinian people in Gaza.
On the sidelines of the meeting, Egypt and Serbia signed several agreements in the fields of trade, employment, communications and information technology, and customs and antiquities and museums.
Notably, they signed a free trade agreement that aims to boost the two countries’ economic and trade cooperation.
According to the Egyptian official statistical agency CAPMAS, trade exchange between Egypt and Serbia has witnessed a significant boost, reaching $120.4 million in 2023.
This figure reflects a notable 15 percent increase compared to the previous year when trade stood at $104.7 million in 2022.
Moreover, Serbian investments in Egypt experienced robust growth during the fiscal year 2022/2023, surging by 37.3 percent to reach $173,000.
