CAIRO – July 13, 2024: Egypt condemned the massacre committed by Israel against al-Mawasi region, the area designated as a humanitarian zone in Western Khan Younis, on Saturday, killing about 80 civilians including children and civil emergency personnel.

 

Egypt has called on Israel to cease disregarding the lives of defenseless civilian citizens and to uphold essential humanitarian standards in accordance with international law and humanitarian law. Egypt emphasizes that such crimes are not subject to a statute of limitations and cannot be justified under any circumstances.

 

Egypt added that these ongoing violations against Palestinian citizens further complicate current efforts to achieve calm and a ceasefire. These actions also intensify the human suffering of Palestinians amidst a regrettable international silence and perceived ineffectiveness.

 

Israeli Army announced that the attack on al-Mawasi area aims to assassinate two Hamas leaders Mohamed Al-Deif and Rafi Salama. However, the movement confirmed that Al Deif is fine and the Israeli rumors about his assassination are baseless.
 
 

In a statement, Hamas movement condemned the massacre saying “The al-Mawasi Khan Younis massacre, which targeted an area densely populated with over eighty thousand displaced people, is a clear indication from the Zionist government of its commitment to continue its genocide against the Palestinian people.”

 

“This is done through the repeated and systematic targeting of unarmed civilians in tents, displacement centers, and residential neighborhoods, committing the most heinous crimes against them, without regard for calls to stop targeting innocent civilians or adherence to any laws of war that mandate their protection,” the movement added in a statement.

 

 

Additionally, Journalist Mohammad Manhal Abu Armana, has been confirmed killed in the deadly Israeli massacre in al-Mawasi.

 

 

One of the injured civil emergency people said that Israel launched a barrage of fires and intese missile killing and injuring several people.

 

Also, another massacre was committed by Israeli forces, killing and injuring 17 people in a prayer hall in Al-Shati refugee camp, west of Gaza City.

 

Before committing these two horrific massacres, the Palestinian Ministry of Health announced that the death toll of the Israeli aggression against the Palestinians has risen to 38,443 martyrs and 88,481 injuries since the seventh of last October.
