Egyptian and Lebanese FMs make phone call, stress bilateral collaboration

CAIRO - 9 July 2024: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Egyptian Abroad Affairs Badr Abdel Ati, received a phone call Wednesday, from Lebanese Foreign Minister Abdullah Bouhabib, to congratulate him on assuming his new position.
 
Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Immigration and Director of the Public Diplomacy Department, stated that Minister Abdel Ati stressed the priority Egypt gives to the Lebanese file and Egypt’s full support for Lebanon’s stability and the preservation of its sovereignty in the face of the threats it faces. 
 
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration also affirmed that Egypt is intensifying its contacts with various international actors to immediately stop the war in Gaza and prevent the region from sliding into a state of widespread instability.
 
The official spokesman added that Minister Bouhabib expressed his country's appreciation for Egyptian support for Lebanon's stability and facing the challenges it is going through. The two sides confirmed their aspiration for continued coordination and consultation to enhance various aspects of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
