Round of Gaza ceasefire negotiations to be held in Egypt Thursday

CAIRO - 9 July 2024: A high-level source revealed that a new round of Gaza ceasefire will be held in Cairo Thursday. 

A round of negotiations already took place Tuesday in Cairo, and another is scheduled for Wednesday in Doha, Qatar.

The source said that the Egyptian security delegation reiterated Tuesday Egypt’s firm positions on the necessity of an immediate ceasefire and facilitating the entry of humanitarian aid into the Strip.

The source added that the delegation will head to Doha Wednesday on a mission to bring viewpoints between Hamas and Israel closer to reach a truce agreement as soon as possible.

The source explained that there is agreement on many points in light of the Egyptian security delegation’s continued efforts to bring viewpoints closer between all parties.
